At Connie Vidos School of Dance, we've been nurturing dancers of all ages and abilities in Bunbury and Australind for over three decades. Our mission is to inspire health, confidence, passion, and happiness through dance, fostering friendships in a safe and welcoming environment.

The following policies are in place to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all students, families, and staff at Connie Vidos School of Dance. They outline our expectations around participation, safety, behaviour, payments, privacy, and the use of social media. By enrolling in classes, families acknowledge and agree to these terms, helping us create a positive and supportive studio community for everyone.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

By registering to attend any Connie Vidos School of Dance classes you agreed to the Release of Liability Agreement

1. I/my child is participating in classes, offered by CVSOD. I recognise that dance classes required physical exertion that may be strenuous and may cause physical injury and I am fully aware of these risks

2. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician prior to enrolling if I/my child has a medical condition or injury. By enrolling I confirm that I am physically fit and have no medical condition that would prevent my participation in the classes

3. I understand that it is my/my child's responsibility to advise the dance teacher of any injuries/medical conditions so the teacher can provide suitable alternatives as required

4. In consideration of being permitted to participate in classes, I agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries or damages , known or unknown, which I/my child might incur as a result of participating

5. In further consideration of being permitted to participate in classes, I knowingly, voluntarily and expressly waive  any claim I may have against the owners, teachers and assistants, individually or otherwise, of Connie Vidos School of Dance for damages and injury that I/my child may sustain as a result of participating

Cancellation Policy

When enrolling you are subject to the following terms and conditions. Please ensure you make yourself familiar before purchasing your classes.

Cancellation of enrolment should be made in writing to connievidos@y7mail.com. Failure to do so may result in further charges being issued.

Change of Mind - Contact us before payment is made. We can reissue a new invoice for classes attended but we cannot issue a refund/credit on classes once term payment is made

Non Attendance - If you miss a class, whether due to sickness, holiday or a prior commitment, unfortunately we are NOT in a position to offer make up classes or offer a transfer of credit to another term. Exceptions may be made if a student is unable to attend for an extended period of time due to an injury or other unforeseen circumstance. In these cases we will require discussion with Krystina either in phone or in person or an explanation in writing to connievidos@y7mail.com. The outcome will be determined on a case by case basis and is at the owner's discretion.

Code of Conduct

Students and parents  are required to show respect to the teachers, staff and students. Inappropriate language and bullying will not be tolerated

Students are required to respect the studio property

Students should attend all classes (where possible), be punctual and as courtesy apologise when interrupting a class and advise teachers (in advance where possible) if they will be absent

Students should not leave class without the permission from the teacher

Mobile phones/ipads should not come into class unless required to video routines. These devices should be on silent so as to not disrupt the class. Use of social media etc is not appropriate during class.

Students should clean up after themselves...rubbish bins are provided so please make use of them.

Students should be respectful of lessons taking place when they are in waiting areas. Noise should be kept within reason.

Students should present themselves in a neat and tidy manner with hair tied up and adhering to studio dress codes

Students should maintain hygiene standards. It may be appropriate for older students to have deoderant and a hand towel in their dance bags

Any use of drugs, alcohol or tobacco products (including vapes) will not be tolerated on studio grounds.

There will be no guaranteed supervision other than when dancers are in class. If you will be late collecting your child please let us know (for younger children) so we can arrange for them to stay in studio or with office staff until you arrive). Please be punctual for collection for last class of the day so staff can get home to their families

Payment Policy

Term Fees are fixed regardless of non-attendance (Exclusion may be considered for any long-term illness/injury exclusions)

Each child has an annual insurance fee of $45 payable at time of enrolling. Class fees are paid by the term

Privacy/Confidentiality Policy

*CVSOD will only collect information that is necessary for its functions and activities through use of lawful and fair means

Information collected will only be used and disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected, or a related purpose provided it is within the person’s reasonable expectations

**CVSOD will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information which it collects, uses or discloses is accurate, complete and up to date.

*CVSOD will take reasonable steps to: (a) protect the personal information which it holds from unauthorised use; and (b) destroy information which is no longer needed

*CVSOD will give an individual access to the personal information which it holds about them when requested

*CVSOD will obtain an individual’s consent prior to collecting sensitive information

*CVSOD staff agree to not disclose any personal information obtained through their duties to any outside persons

*Confidential information regarding students/families will only be given to senior staff or students own teacher (if deemed necessary).

Social Media Policy

CVSOD staff will on occasion take video and photographs during class and performances for use on social media and advertising material (website, flyers, programs, Facebook and Instagram). If you do not give permission for your child to be included in photographs/vidros for social media please notify us. 

When using ALL forms of Social Media (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter) all students, parents/guardians must adhere to this CVSOD Social Media Policy.

Students and parents may not photograph, video or record any material in classes without the teacher’s permission.

Where permission has been given to record a class/routine for rehearsal purposes, use of that recording has been authorised for that purpose only and under no circumstances must it be posted on any Social Media platform

Any and all choreography for competition Solos, annual performances etc., taught by CVSOD staff and guest teachers, remains the property of CVSOD. Should any material be posted to Social Media (in agreement with this policy) credit must be given to CVSOD. This includes footage purchased from eisteddfods and the CVSOD concerts.

No footage of CVSOD performances are to be shared to social media without permission from CVSOD.
